Worcester Public Library Shifting Hours At 2 Branches

The permanent changes at two Worcester branches will add some additional operating hours.

WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Public Library will permanently change the hours of two branches on the north side of the city starting Monday.

The changes will shift the opening and closing times, but will also add some new hours at the Greendale and Great Brook Valley branches, according to the library.

Here's a look at the current hours versus the new hours that will start Monday:

Frances Perkins Branch

Current hours

  • Monday: 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: 1 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 1 to 8:30 p.m
  • Saturday, Sunday: Closed

New hours starting Feb. 27

  • Mondays: Noon to 8:30 p.m. (shift in hours)
  • Tuesday: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: Noon to 8:30 p.m. (additional hour)
  • Friday: 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (shift in hours)
  • Saturday, Sunday: Closed

Great Brook Valley Branch

Current hours

  • Monday: 2 to 5 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 2 to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 2 to 5 p.m.
  • Thursday: 9:30 a.m. to noon, 2 to 5 p.m.
  • Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Closed

New hours starting Feb. 27

  • Monday: 2 to 5:30 p.m. (additional 1/2 hour)
  • Tuesdays: 2 to 5:30 p.m. (additional 1/2 hour)
  • Wednesday: 2 to 5:30 p.m. (additional 1/2 hour)
  • Thursday: 9:30 a.m. to noon, 2 to 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: Closed
