Worcester Public Schools Calendar: Must-Know Dates for Winter 2016-17

When does holiday break begin for Worcester schools? We've got that date and more you'll want to plan for this winter.

WORCESTER, MA — Students are back in school for just a few more weeks until the extended winter holidays. And parents had better pull out the calendar now and start making plans.

Worcester's students get a week (and a day) away from classrooms, book bags and homework.

According to the school district calendar for 2016-17, following the Christmas holiday, which falls on the weekend, the school's winter holiday begins on Dec. 26 and runs through Monday, Jan. 2, with classes starting up again on Jan. 3.

Here are some important winter schedule dates for Worcester Public Schools:

  • Dec. 26 through Jan. 2: Winter Holiday
  • Jan. 16: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, No School
  • Feb. 20: Presidents' Day, No School
  • Feb. 21-24: February Vacation

The extended forecast for the winter holidays includes a mix of sunny days and rainy days, with temperatures ranging from the low 30s to the upper 50s.

The Worcester Public Library offers events and programs during the winter break, including a marionettes show, Legos building group, Tinkertime, stuffed animal storytime and a lot more.
