WORCESTER, MA — Worcester Public Schools is looking to fill jobs across classrooms, school buildings and district operations.
The district has openings for teachers, paraeducators, nurses, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, custodial staff and other roles, according to the district’s careers page and public job postings.
Worcester Public Schools is the second-largest school district in New England, serving nearly 25,000 students and employing more than 5,000 educators and staff, according to the district.

Current public postings include classroom jobs such as elementary, math, science, ESL, special education and vocational teaching positions. The district is also listing paraeducator openings in special education, ESL and student-specific roles at multiple schools.
Operational and support openings include school nurse supervisor, licensed practical nurse, certified nursing assistant, bus driver, bus monitor, cafeteria cook, cafeteria helper, crossing guard, custodial, transportation liaison, administrative and buildings and grounds positions, according to the job board.

The district’s careers page lists 2025-26 base pay at $61,410 for new teachers, $35,280 for paraeducators, $18.37 per hour for cafeteria staff, $33.10 per hour for bus drivers and $21.35 for custodians.
WPS said it is also working to increase staff diversity, staff retention and student access to employment pipelines by the end of the 2027-28 school year.
