Worcester Restaurant Bill Killing: Man Indicted On Murder Charge
A 24-year-old man was shot and killed July 4 during an argument, according to prosecutors.
WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man has been indicted on a murder charge following a deadly July 5 shooting, according to the Worcester County District Attorney.
LeRoy Thompson Jr., 25, is also facing charges of reckless endangerment, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
Thompson shot Joshua Lopez, 24, on July 4 in front of an Almont Avenue home, according to prosecutors. The two were apparently arguing about the payment of a restaurant bill.
Lopez died of his injuries July 6. His was the fourth homicide in Worcester in 2020, and the second over the July 4 weekend.
