Worcester Stop Leads To 3 Arrests On Gun, Pot Charges
A Webster man and his two passengers are facing charges, including driving while on narcotics.

WORCESTER, MA — A Webster man is facing multiple charges that include possessing a firearm, drug distribution and driving under the influence of narcotics.
On Wednesday, Jan. 11, around 12:15 a.m., state police pulled a car over on Hammond Street in Worcester. The driver, Luis Matos, 18, of Webster, was arrested for operating under the influence of narcotics, according to Massachusetts State Police.
During a search of the vehicle, police found one .40 caliber semi-automatic Glock in the glove box as well as a .22 caliber semi-automatic Sig Sauer pistol in the rear passenger’s compartment. Inside the center console were four bags of marijuana, a scale and packaging material, which indicated to police evidence of narcotic distribution.
The two passengers, Javier Torres, 18, of Worcester and a juvenile were also arrested and transported with Matos to the Newbury Barracks where they were booked and charged with the following offenses:
Luis Matos:
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm – 2 counts2. Possession of firearm with defaced serial number3. Possession of ammunition without FID4. Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Substance5. Conspiracy to violate Drug Law6. OUI Drugs7. Negligent operation of MV
- Operating with headlight out
Javier Torres:
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm – 2 counts. Possession of firearm with defaced serial number3. Possession of ammunition without FID4. Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Substance5. Conspiracy to violate Drug Law
Juvenile:
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm – 2 counts. Possession of firearm with defaced serial number3. Possession of ammunition without FID4. Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Substance5. Conspiracy to violate Drug Law
Bail was set at $10,000 for all three and none were able to post bail. Matos and Torres were held at the Millbury Barracks and the juvenile was transported to a juvenile detention facility. All three were transported to Worcester District Court in the morning.
