Worcester Store Sells Major Lottery Winning Ticket
One lucky Massachusetts Lottery player won a large prize after buying a ticket in the city.
WORCESTER, MA — One lucky Massachusetts Lottery player won a large prize after buying a ticket in the city.
A winning $100,000 ticket was purchased at Popcorn Market at 179 Belmont St. in Worcester on Friday. The prize was won from the Massachusetts State Lottery's "MassCash" game.
To win, players must match three or more of their five chosen numbers to the numbers drawn. Matching all five numbers earns the game’s top prize of $100,000.
The odds of winning the top prize in Mass Cash are one in 324,632, according to the State Lottery. Drawings are held daily.
The state lottery commission did not share who won the prize, but retailers that sell a winning ticket typically receive a bonus from the Lottery.
The lucky ticket comes in the same week that two winning tickets, each winning $100,000, were sold in Worcester. One ticket was sold at Lincoln Discount Liquors on Lincoln Street, and another was sold at a Family Farms location in the city.
