Worcester Veterans Day Parade Returns In 2021

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester is planning a full slate of Veterans Day events in 2021, a contrast to subdued celebrations in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Veterans Day 2021 will see the return of the city's parade honoring veterans. This year will be the 68th observance of the day by the Worcester Veterans Council, and the 104th observation of Armistace Day — the day World War I ended.

Here's a full lineup of events for the Nov. 11 holiday, according to the city manager's office:

  • 8:30 to 11 a.m. — Pancake breakfast at Veterans Inc., 69 Grove St.
  • 11 a.m. — Veterans Day parade begins at the corner of Lancaster and Grove streets and heads a short distance south to the Worcester’s World War I Memorial (also known as the Whispering Wall) at the intersection of Lincoln and Highland streets. Contact Veterans Inc. to join the parade.
  • Noon — Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Massachusetts Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Green Hill Park
  • 1 p.m. — Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Korean War Memorial, 52 Foster St.
