Worcester Vigil To Mark 7th Anniversary of Sandy Hook Shooting

The vigil, hosted by Central MA Moms Demand Action, is one of many events planned nationwide to remember the December 2012 shooting.

WORCESTER, MA — In remembrance of the 7th anniversary of the Sandy Hook school shooting, Central MA Moms Demand Action is planning a community vigil next week to remember victims, support survivors and call for an end to gun violence. The vigil will be held from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 13 at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester.

The vigil includes a program featuring Sandy Hook survivors, legislators and faith leaders. The program will take place in the school's Lazare Conference room. Following the program, an outdoor candlelight vigil is planned.

The event is part of a nationwide series of vigils planned in partnership with the Newtown Foundation, Newtown Action Alliance and numerous other organizations.
