WORCESTER, MA- A Worcester woman pleaded guilty in federal court in Worcester to methamphetamine charges.
Mindy Doherty, 35, pleaded guilty to two counts of methamphetamine conspiracy.
In 2016, Doherty accepted packages of methamphetamine at her home in Worcester and wired money to someone in California who was involved in the scheme, according to the Department of Justice.
Doherty also shipped methamphetamine to Brian Zukowski, a co-conspirator who was in Florida, through Federal Express and U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail. Doherty sold methamphetamine to various individuals in Massachusetts and wired a portion of the money to Zukowski or deposited money into Zukowski’s bank account, according to the Department of Justice.
Doherty was also apart of another conspiracy where she also accepted packages of methamphetamine at her Worcester home on behalf of another co-conspirator, Adam Germano, and then gave a portion of the methamphetamine to Germano, according to the Department of Justice.
Doherty traveled with Germano to Texas to buy the drug, and she carried thousands of dollars of cash on the flight. Doherty also wired money to Germano to be used to buy the methamphetamine in Texas and Nevada. Even after Germano was arrested in March 2017, Doherty continued to distribute methamphetamine in and around Worcester, according to the Department of Justice.
Doherty faces a mandatory five years and up to life in prison, a minimum of five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a fine of $10 million. She is scheduled for sentencing on May 20, 2019.
