Worcester's 2016 ELECTION RESULTS: Clinton, Michael Moore, No to Charter Schools

Patch's updated roundup of Tuesday's election results.

WORCESTER, MA—Trump. Clinton. Johnson. Stein. With contentions hotter than a branding iron, America marches to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 8, for one of the most historical presidential elections in most of our lifetimes.

From 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., voters hit voting booths across the country, electing not only our next commander-in-chief, but members of congress, state representatives and senators, councillors and county sheriffs in their communities.

Results are below:

Update, 6 p.m.: Around 5:45 p.m., a long line wound down the aisle all the way back to the bulb section (and that is far back) at the Shaw's in Webster Square, one of the many polling district places in Worcester. Most said they didn't mind, they remained calm, and that the process was painless.

Most, also, didn't want to share for whom they voted.

"It was calm in there," said Timothy Santana, who just voted. "I voted Hillary. I voted for the person, and I didn't vote for the fads. I observed and put the good together and the bad together. I didn't judge on personality. Some people are meant to lead nations. Some people are meant to lead Planet Fitness, and others a continent. I just observed and listened to both sides of the insults and the energy and the good and balanced it in a pot."

Chris Delaney went the other way, voting for Donald Trump at the Tatnuck Square voting location. "Well, Worcester is kinda blue. There seems to be a way each party does things. I always made money through defense spending. I'm a big believer in defense. Republicans put more money into that. And Massachusetts is where all the defense companies are. At work, no one wanted to talk about it. They asked on the company board to put who you voted for; no one wrote anything."
