Worcester's Esmely Munoz Participates As Shepherd Intern

Shepherd interns pledge to live on $14 a day and work with poverty-fighting organizations around the nation.

From Bucknell University: Bucknell University is one of 23 participating schools in the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty (SHECP). Shepherd interns pledge to live on $14 a day and work with poverty-fighting organizations around the nation including public defenders' offices, food banks, clinics, housing authorities and other agencies in distressed communities.

Esmely Munoz, 2020, of Worcester, MA participated in this year's program. The eight-week summer program brought to life concepts the students explored in the classroom, grounding their studies of poverty and social justice in reality.

Located in Lewisburg, Pa., Bucknell University is a highly selective private liberal arts university that offers majors in the arts, engineering, humanities, management, and social and natural sciences, along with broad opportunities outside of class, to its 3,600 undergraduates.
