World-Renowned Pianist Nelson Goerner to Bring Liszt and Albéniz to Worcester This March!
Nelson Goerner brings technical mastery and poetic Liszt to Assumption University on March 5 for an unforgettable piano recital.

Music Worcester continues its star-studded 2025-2026 season with a highly anticipated recital by Argentine pianist Nelson Goerner. Widely regarded as one of the greatest living classical pianists, Goerner will perform on Thursday, March 5, at Assumption University’s Curtis Performance Hall.
A Masterclass in Contrast
The evening’s program is designed to showcase the dual nature of the piano. Goerner will perform two contrasting works by Franz Liszt: the dramatic and virtuosic Ballade No. 2 and the delicate, introspective Valse oubliée No. 2.
The second half of the program features Book IV of Isaac Albéniz’s Iberia. The technical demands of this piece are legendary; The New York Times once noted that while the work seems to require "three hands" and "unlimited years of practice," Goerner is one of the few artists with the prowess to master it at full tempo.
