5 Things You Should Know Today: August 15

Here's what's happening around town today, Monday, August 15

1.  are available today from 1pm to 3:30pm at the . Please call the Senior Center if you would like to meet with Veterans' Agent Ken Oles.

2. The senior center will host a free  at 12:30pm. This month's movie is appropriately titled, "Some Like It Hot." This 1959 comedy features, Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon.  Stop by to enjoy this movie with popcorn and root beer floats.

3. This is the last full week that Sweatt Beach will only be open for the summer season. The beach and snack bar will be open today from 10am to 4pm. Day passes can be purchased for only $6 adult, $3 children. Sweatt Beach is located on Woolford Road, off Elysium Street and is staffed by lifeguards. For more information, call the Recreation Department at (508) 384-5427.

4. The  invites family to visit their new Early Literacy Station in the Children's Room. This station is loaded with 50 educational software titles and offers children a chance to use a safe, standalone computer not connected to the Internet that is age-appropriate, engaging and academically relevant. The ELS has a touch screen, a colorful keyboard and a tiny mouse to promote easy learning and discovery. It is located next to the Fish Tank, come and play!!
