5 Things You Should Know Today: August 26

Here's what's happening around town today, Friday, August 26.

1. The Fiske Library will hold a few different activities today:

  • The Friends of the  will hold a special free screening of the Film this morning at 10:30am. Rio is about a macaw named Blu who has been raised in Moose Lake, Minnesota and does not know how to fly. It is an animated comedy-adventure by the makers of Ice Age and is rated G. This film is 96 minutes long.  Advance sign-up and ticket for this movie is required and will be available on August 16. Adults need tickets also.
  • The Library will also hold two  today. Birth to pre-walkers with Mom, Dad or caregiver will meet at 9:30am. Toddlers (walkers) to ages 2½ with Mom, Dad or caregiver will meet at 10:30am. Playgroups are held in the Sweatt Meeting Room. No registration required.

2. All players interested in playing for the 2011  team must attend tryouts today from 8am to 12pm at the Rice Fields in Wrentham.

3. The King Philip Middle School will be open today for  from 8am to 2pm to walk through the building with a parent.

4. The White Barn Farm will be open today from 3pm - 7pm offering an array of seasonal vegetables grown right at the Farm.
