Bloomingdale's Outlet Store Opens in Wrentham

A new addition to the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets complex.

The Wrentham Village Premium Outlets saw the opening of a new store Thursday morning — Bloomingdale's: the Outlet Store.

There was an official ribbon-cutting ceremony mid-morning, as both Bloomingdale's and outlet officials spoke about their enthusiasm for the new store.

"It's very exciting to be here today," said Arnie Orlick, Bloomingdale's senior vice president for outlets. "I think you'll find great brands, great values and great prices, but — more importantly — I think you'll find a team of associates who are willing to help in any way they can."

Orlick said everything in the store was discounted at least 35 percent from list prices.

He said there were obstacles on the way to opening the store, but they were overcome.

"We were given the space a little later than we would have liked, so getting construction, permits, and systems all in place was difficult," he said. "Everything came through in the end, and we were able to meet the challenge. We are very excited to be here."

State Sen. Richard Ross (R-Wrentham) spoke about the way the outlets had helped the town, despite the economic downturn.

"It's a great pleasure to see Wrentham Village [Outlets] thriving and continuing to grow," he said, shortly before reading a citation from the state legislature. "In 10 years, I'll bring you another as you're celebrating your anniversary."

He said the town of Wrentham had become a destination, known even in faraway countries.

John Arzoomanian, the general manager of the complex, said construction on the store began in June.

"We're excited about it," he said. "Bloomingdale's is a destination in themselves."

Susan Bladd, the marketing director for the outlets, said Bloomingdale's was the first stand-alone store built in the complex since Restoration Hardware six years ago.

"It's a great addition to the plaza," she said.
