Officials: Leadership Forum Leads To Good Idea Exchange
Last weekend's meeting may become a quarterly event.

The leadership forum held last weekend for the town's elected boards and committees appears to have drawn positive reviews, and may become a recurring item.
The forum, thought up by Board of Selectmen Chairman Stephen Langley and Finance Committee Chairman Jerry McGovern, was intended to improve communication between the town's various elected officials.
At the meeting, members of the Elementary School Committee, Board of Selectmen, Planning Board, King Philip School Committee, Fiske Library Board of Trustees and Board of Assessors talked about the goals and responsibilities of their respective organizations.

Town Administrator William Ketcham said the meeting was quite useful.
"I think it was very productive," he said. "It would be a very good thing to have on a regular basis, a meeting of all the town's elected boards and committees."

He said the participants of the meeting appear to have agreed that the meeting was positive, and several said such a forum should be held again.
A day for a follow-up meeting, though, has yet to be set.
"There was none scheduled, but everyone agreed that more should be held," he said. "It would probably be done on a quarterly basis."
