Before voters cast their ballots on whether Plainville will permit a gambling establishment at the Plainridge Racecourse, there will be the last of four gaming forums at the Wood School gym, 72 Messenger St. at 7 p.m.
The form will discuss the town's role in the host agreement and how it impacts and benefits the town.
A separate presentation will be done by the No Plainville Racino group, Sept. 8, at the Senior Center on School Street from 4-6 p.m. Les Bernai of Stop Predatory Gaming will be the guest speaker and video made by MIT professor Natasha Schill, who has studied the addictive nature of slot machines.
The state gaming commission recently denied the owners of Plainridge Racecourse for getting license approval. Other groups could step in and make the bid for the slot machine license, but a no vote on election day would prevent that from happening.
