Fire Hydrant Struck In Wrentham; Rt. 1A Flooded
Both sides of Rt. 1A are closed while crews respond to the scene.

WRENTHAM, MA – Both sides of Rt. 1A in Wrentham are closed due to flooding, according to MassDOT. Agency spokesperson Jacquelyn Goddard said a water break happened between Winter Street and Rt. 140.
According to NBC Boston, a van went off the road and struck a fire hydrant early Wednesday morning, flooding the roadway. The driver allegedly left the scene but was later arrested and charged with OUI.
The northbound side of Rt. 1A is now open. The southbound side remains closed.
