Wrentham Police Warn Residents Of IRS Scam

Do not send money to a caller claiming to be from the IRS, police said.

WRENTHAM, MA – The IRS scammers are at it again, Wrentham police said. The department issued a warning to residents Friday about callers claiming to be from the IRS.

Residents were cautioned that scammers will call and say they'll get a warrant for your arrest if you do not send a sum of money. If you receive one of these calls, hang up immediately.

The IRS does not call people to collect anything. WPD urges residents to pass along the warning to prevent others from being scammed.
