Wrentham's Palioca Earns D3baseball.com Honors for Wheaton College
Junior pitcher Alec Palioca earned baseball honors at Wheaton College.

Wheaton College juniorΒ Alec PaliocaΒ of WrenthamΒ has collected D3baseball.com Team of the Week honors for the first time in his career.
A former King Philip player, Palioca, the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Pitcher of the Week, no-hit Coast Guard over seven innings pitched in his only start on the week for Wheaton. Palioca, who was pulled with his no-hitter still intact, walked two batters and struck out a season-high nine hitters in the Lyons 4-0 win.
Palioca becomes the third student-athlete in program history to be named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week joining teammatesΒ Apolinar De la CruzΒ andΒ Frank HolbrookΒ on the list. De la Cruz was named to the team for his efforts in games throughΒ March 12-19, 2012Β while Holbrook picked up honors for his NEWMAC Championship title win during the week ofΒ April 30 to May 6, 2012.

The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its second season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the eighth Team of the Week of the 2013 season.
