Wrentham Storm Update: 1,000+ Without Power, Warming Center Open

Police warn residents of downed trees and wires, as well as potentially dangerous hazards in town.

WRENTHAM, MA – The Wrentham police, fire and public works departments are moving through town Saturday clearing downed trees on power lines, police said. There are six National Grid trucks assigned to Wrentham, according to the department. As of 2:20 p.m., 1,435 outages were reported in town.

The Wrentham Senior Center, 400 Taunton St., is open to residents who have lost power and need a place to stay warm, charge their phones and receive informal updates.

Residents are warned not to drive around barricades as they are placed around power lines compromised by trees. Police said residents should stay away from these hazards and not try handling a downed tree or limb themselves.
