Wrentham Students Graded Among Highest in U.S.: Report

Wrentham students' educational attainment was ranked 2.4 grades above average on a national report.

WRENTHAM, MA β€” Wrentham students were ranked well above their peers, according to a new study.

Wrentham students were found to be 2.4 grades ahead of the average United States student, Stanford researchers found.

The researchers reported high educational attainment is strongly correlated with wealthβ€”a "stubborn" reality, they said.

The study was based on sixth-graders' reading and math scores.

The study reported the median income in Wrentham is $116,000. Ninety-six percent of students are white, 1 percent are Hispanic, 1 percent are black, and 2 percent are Asian/other.

The New York Times further analyzed the results, finding, "Children in the school districts with the highest concentrations of poverty score an average of more than four grade levels below children in the richest districts."
