The 19 Best Hospitals In Michigan: New National Ranking

MICHIGAN — Nineteen hospitals have been ranked the best in Michigan in a new report from Newsweek.

University of Michigan Health in Ann Arbor is the top-ranked hospital in Michigan in Newsweek and data partner Statista’s America’s Best In-State Hospitals 2025 ranking of more than 700 medical centers nationwide.

The 2025 best in-state hospitals list features medical facilities in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The hospitals were ranked based on quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and national surveys, including:

• The American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey of Hospitals Database, an online nationwide survey among medical professionals;
• Results from Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems patient-experience surveys; and
• Voluntary implementation surveys on PROMs (patient-reported outcome measures).
