3 MI Hospitals Among Top 100 In U.S., New Ranking Shows

Three hospitals in Michigan are ranked among the top 1 percent of clinical care facilities in the country, according to a new report Tuesday.

The 2026 America’s Best Hospitals awards from Healthgrades, an online resource to help people find doctors and hospitals, is a three-tiered ranking of the top 50, 100 and 250 hospitals, which, respectively, represent the top 1 percent, 2 percent and 5 percent of clinical care hospitals nationwide.

In Michigan, medical centers named to America’s 100 Best Hospitals are:

No. 3 Beaumont Hospital, Troy (21 consecutive years on list)
No. 4 Ascension Providence Hospital-Southfield Campus (21 consecutive years on list)
No. 38 Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital, Royal Oak (New to list)

Michigan hospitals in the top 250 are:

No. 222 Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids (Second straight year on list)

If all hospitals performed similarly to America’s 250 Best Hospitals, 211,370 lives could have been saved, Healthgrades said in a news release.

Nearly two-thirds of consumers say they’re more likely to choose a hospital with a quality award than without, highlighting the growing importance of access to objective hospital quality data, Healthgrades said. To determine the top 250 U.S. hospitals, Healthgrades evaluated clinical performance for approximately 4,500 hospitals across more than 30 common procedures and conditions.

"This year’s America’s Best Hospitals list gives patients a clearer picture of where high-quality care is delivered most consistently, helping them understand their options and feel confident in choosing the care that's right for them.”
