3 People Killed, 3 Injured In House Explosion In Northfield: Reports
The explosion leveled the home near Whitmore Lake and sent smoke and debris hundreds of feet in the air, a video shows.
NORTHFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — At least three people were killed Saturday when a house exploded in Northfield Township, according to reports.
The explosion, which happened on Winters Lane near Whitmore Lake shortly before 4 p.m., completely destroyed the home, Click On Detroit reported.
A video tweeted by Nate Mark shows smoke rising and debris falling in the moments after the explosion.

A photo published by WXYZ ABC7 Detroit shows the aftermath of the explosion, with nothing remaining of the home but debris and three damaged vehicles.
The explosion was under investigation by Northfield Township police. Northfield Township Fire, Green Oak Police, Green Oak Fire, and Michigan State Police also responded to the explosion, police said.
