7 More MI Bed Bath & Beyond Stores On Company Closure List

MICHIGAN — Bed Bath & Beyond is closing seven more Michigan stores, including two in the metro Detroit area, as the struggling retailer fights for survival.

The announcement comes as the retail chain announced it's closing another 150 stores in an attempt to avoid bankruptcy. The news also comes after the retail giant closed five Michigan stores, including four in the metro Detroit area last month.

"Plans for current store fleet optimization program to be expanded to more than 400, including closure of an approximately 150 additional lower-producing Bed Bath & Beyond stores, which builds on closure of approximately 200 Bed Bath & Beyond stores," the company stated in a regulatory document filed on Monday.

The new store closings include:

  • Troy: 650 John R. Road
  • Westland: 35615 Warren Road
  • Okemos: 1982 West Grand River Ave.
  • Holland: 3050 Beeline Road Suite 30
  • Saginaw: 4420 Bay Road
  • Flint: G-3605 Miller Road
  • Portage: 5930 S. Westnedge Avenue

The stores are expected to close within the next few months, with liquidation sales possibly starting soon.
