Gas prices across Michigan could surge another 50 cents by the end of the week, according to a petroleum analysis.
Patrick De Haan, the head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, said the Great Lakes state could see a double spike this week due to refinery challenges in the region.
He said prices could be between $4.49 and $4.69 per gallon in Michigan by the end of the week.
The average price for a regular gallon of gas across Michigan jumped 15 cents Tuesday to $4.19, according to AAA.
Prices were even higher in the metro Detroit area. The average for a regular gallon of gas was $4.20 in the area, up 11 cents from Monday, according to AAA.
