ZEELAND, MI — West Michigan's Howard Miller Company will not be closing after all.
The 100-year-old company initially announced last summer that it was planning to wind down operations in early 2026 due to tariffs and a poor housing market.
Instead, the popular furniture and clock business is now "pivoting" and beginning a new era.
The Miller family themselves will reduce their daily involvement in the company, but the team of product experts will remain.
"We are fully committed to delivering the same precision-engineered, stylish timepieces and furniture that have defined your homes for generations," company officials said in a statement. "The name on every clock remains the same, as does our unwavering dedication to quality."
