Gas prices across Michigan fell Monday to their lowest mark since April, according to AAA.
The average price for a regular gallon of gas across Michigan on Monday was $4.00, 18 cents cheaper than last week and 71 cents from last month, according to AAA.
Michigan drivers paid an average of $60 for a full 15-gallon tank, according to AAA.
Gas prices were also down in the metro Detroit area. The price for a regular gallon of gas on Monday in the region was $4.12, 17 cents cheaper than last week and 67 cents cheaper than last month, according to AAA.
Gas experts said the cheaper gas prices largely come from vessels now being able to move through the Strait of Hormuz. However, Iran suggested over the weekend the strait was again closed and the U.S. threatened more strikes, all developments that could again push gas prices higher.
