Michigan is among the best states for doing business, according to a new CNBC ranking.
Michigan earned the No. 6 spot in CNBC’s America’s Top States for Business, outworking states such as Georgia, Florida and Indiana.

For their ranking, CNBC looks at all 50 states across 138 metrics in ten broad categories.
Michigan scored top ten marks in cost of doing business (No. 4) and infrastructure (No. 9). The state also earned a top 25 ranking in the six other categories:
To round out the ten categories, Michigan earned the No. 27 spot for business friendliness and the No. 29 spot for education.
"Michigan is a place where everyone can succeed," Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said. "I’m proud of the work we’ve done to make this ranking possible, such as creating jobs, bringing advanced manufacturing home, preparing our workforce, and lowering costs.
