Woman, 10-Year-Old Girl Killed In 3-Car Crash In Monroe County: Sheriff

RAISINVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI — A woman and a 10-year-old girl were killed in a three-car crash Wednesday in Monroe County, according to sheriff's officials.

The crash happened at 7:12 p.m. Wednesday on South Custer Road and Plum Grove Drive in Raisinville Township, officials said.

Officials said 56-year-old Amy M. Beason, of Monroe, was driving a red 2025 Honda HR-V west on South Custer Road with a 10-year-old girl as a front-seat passenger.

She came to a stop on the road and was attempting to turn into a driveway when a white 2010 Ford F-150 pickup slammed into the back of the Honda, officials said.

The impact of the crash pushed the Honda into the eastbound lanes where it collided head-on with a blue 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, officials said.

Officials said the Honda rotated clockwise and came to rest facing southeast in a driveway on the road's south side.

The Silverado also rotated clockwise and came to rest facing the southwest on the road's eastbound shoulder, officials said.

The Ford came to a controlled stop on the road's westbound shoulder, facing west, officials said.

Officials said Beason and the 10-year-old girl were killed in the crash. Officials said they were not wearing seatbelts.

The driver of the Chevrolet pickup was 61-year-old Richard Palmer, of Montgomery, Texas, officials said.

The passengers in the Silverado included 59-year-old Lisa R. Palmer in the front seat and Emma N. Palmer, 18, and Samantha G. Palmer, 23, in the rear seats, officials said.

All four of them were taken to Toledo ProMedica Hospital in Toledo, Ohio and were listed in serious condition, officials said.

The driver of the pickup truck, 38-year-old Dustin A. Prajzner, of Dundee, was not injured in the crash and was released at the scene, officials said.

Investigators do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
