EAST LANSING, MI — One person has been arrested in connection with a threat that forced Michigan State University officials to close Berkey Hall and move classes on Thursday.
Officials did not share any details on the arrest, which happened in Washtenaw County. They did note the suspect is not an employee or a student at the university.
Officials said a medical professional who was fulfilling their "Duty to Warn" told officers about the threat late Wednesday.
The threat forced officials to close down the Berkey Hall, which was the site of a mass shooting in 2023. Classes were moved to online.
Officials did not detail the threat, but said it referenced information about a program housed inside Berkey Hall.
The hall was planned to reopen Friday as officials said there is no threat to the campus.
