LAFCU named one of the Best Credit Unions to Work For in 2026

LAFCU has been named one of the Best Credit Unions to Work For in 2026 by American Banker, marking the fourth time the Lansing-based credit union has received the national recognition.

The program highlights credit unions that demonstrate a strong commitment to their employees and workplace culture. LAFCU was recognized in the largest asset category, which includes credit unions with more than $1 billion in assets.

The honor is based in part on feedback from LAFCU employees, with this year's survey showing strong levels of satisfaction across key areas of the workplace. Among the employees who responded to the survey, 86% said they are very satisfied with LAFCU as an employer, and 88% said they are willing to give extra effort to help the organization succeed.

"People do their best work when they have the opportunity to use their strengths and pursue the work they're passionate about," said Patrick Spyke, CEO of LAFCU. "At LAFCU, we want to create an environment where people feel valued, supported and encouraged to find their path, while knowing the work they do matters to our members and communities. Being named one of the Best Credit Unions to Work For for the fourth time tells us we're continuing to build a workplace where people want to grow and make a difference."

Employees pointed to LAFCU's mission and values as an important part of the workplace experience. One employee said, "We live our mission and our values. We roll our sleeves up and do the work." Another praised LAFCU's welcoming and diverse environment, noting its commitment to employees, the community and serving the underserved.

The latest recognition adds to LAFCU's recent workplace honors, including being named a 2026 Best Place to Work for Career Growth and Best Place to Work for Women.
