MONROE TOWNSHIP, MI — A pedestrian was hit and killed on Interstate 75 in Monroe Township early Friday morning, according to Michigan State Police.

The crash happened Friday morning in the southbound lanes on the freeway near Laplaisance Road in Monroe Township, according to police.

Police did not immediately identify the victim or release any other details about the crash.

Southbound Interstate 75 between Elm and Laplaisance roads has been closed for hours, as officials continue investigating the crash.
