Another 1-3 Inches Of Snow Possible Thursday Morning: MI Weather

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Another 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected across southeastern Michigan Thursday morning as a quick-hitting snowstorm moves through the area, according to the National Weather Service.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 1 p.m. for Oakland, Macomb, Livingston Lapeer, St. Clair, and Sanilac counties.
The heaviest snow is expected to fall in the Tri-Cities and Thumb region where forecasters warned snowfall up to 1 inch an hour is possible, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures in the area will stay in the 30s, meaning a changeover to rain in areas above Michigan 59 is less likely, according to the National Weather Service.
Areas north of Michigan 59 can expect to see 2 to 4 inches of snow, while areas north of Interstate 69 can expect to see 3 to 5 inches by Thursday afternoon when the snow moves out of the area, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect the light snow to transition into rain in areas between Interstate 94 and Michigan 59 as temperatures warm into the 40s by Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
If the snow struggles to shift into rain, areas between Interstate 94 and Michigan 59 could see slightly higher snow totals. Those metro Detroit areas are expected to see anything from a dusting up to 3 inches of fresh snow by Thursday afternoon when the snow moves out, according to the National Weather Service.
Little to no snow accumulations are expected in areas south of Interstate 94, as those areas can expect to see just rain throughout Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
After all precipitation moves out of southeastern Michigan by Thursday afternoon, forecasters expect strong winds to move into the region. Northwest winds between 25 and 35 miles per hour with gusts reaching up to 45 miles per hour will hit the area Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Light snow showers could linger into Friday and Saturday across southeastern Michigan, though most areas will be dry with temperatures falling back down into the 30s, according to the National Weather Service.
