Cedar Point Selling Pieces Of Maverick's Original Track
The Maverick, which opened in 2007, was originally built with a heartline roll element after the second launch.

SANDUSKY, OH — Cedar Point is selling pieces of the Maverick coaster's original track.
The Maverick, which opened in 2007, was originally built with a heartline roll element after the second launch.
But coaster officials determined that that element was too intense and they needed to reduce stress on the trains. So they replaced the heartline roll track with an s-curve element.

That original heartline roll track was left fully intact and just sitting around collecting dust. Now coaster officials have decided to cut that track into 390 pieces and sell them.
The pieces are between $300 and $350 and come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Cedar Point’s vice president. The pieces can only be bought in the park and you are only allowed to buy one piece.
