First Look At MI Summer 2024 Forecast: Will It Be Hotter Than Normal?

MICHIGAN — Summer 2024 could be muggy and stormy in Michigan, according to an early forecast.
Spring hasn’t officially begun — the vernal equinox is Tuesday — and the Farmers’ Almanac is already warning Americans to make sure their air conditioners are in good working order. In its summer 2024 weather forecast, the publication said many Americans could experience the hottest temperatures in recorded history. Wet weather is also in the forecast for many parts of the country.

Although it’s still early, the Farmers’ Almanac suggests cloudy weather in Michigan for Father’s Day. For the 4th of July, we should see fair and calm weather if the forecast holds.
The Farmers’ Almanac said most of the country will experience a hot, muggy summer, except for the Northwest, where temperatures will be seasonal, according to the forecast. Areas east of the Mississippi River should see plenty of rain and thunderstorms.

New England is also on track for a wet summer and a stormy season is expected in the Great Lakes and Midwest. The North Central region could fluctuate between summer weather and cooler temperatures associated with occasional cold Canadian air.
The Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions are expected to be hot and steamy with soaking showers. Texas could see a stormier July than August, with sizzling temperatures throughout the season.
Hot and dry conditions are expected to persist in the West for most of the summer.
The long-range forecast suggests August will be especially wet across the eastern two-thirds of the country.
