Freeze Warning For Detroit Area Before Temps Skyrocket This Weekend

SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN — A freeze warning will go into effect overnight Wednesday for southeastern Michigan as temperatures plunge before warming back up this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

The freeze warning will expire 8 a.m. Thursday morning and covers Midland, Bay, Huron, Saginaw, Tuscola, Sanilac, Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe counties.

Temperatures will slightly warm up into the 50s on Thursday before jumping into the 60s on Friday across southeastern Michigan, according to the weather service.

High temperatures will then skyrocket to near 80 degrees this weekend across southeastern Michigan, though rain and thunderstorms are expected on Saturday and Sunday, according to the weather service.
