Gas prices were even higher in the metro Detroit area. Drivers in the region paid $3.65 for a regular gallon of gas Monday morning, 12 cents higher than last week and 67 cents higher than last month, according to AAA.

"Michigan motorists have seen pump prices rise over the past two weeks as crude oil costs continue climbing," AAA Spokesperson Adrienne Woodland said. "The good news is that while prices are still up, the pace of those increases has noticeably slowed in the past week."
