MICHIGAN — The year's spookiest holiday is less than a week away, meaning Michigan's Halloween weather forecast is taking shape.
While temperatures should be warm enough to avoid any Halloween snowfall across Michigan, trick-or-treaters may want to bring a poncho or an umbrella.
As of Friday morning, rain showers are expected in the afternoon hours on Halloween across most of Michigan, including the metro Detroit area, but they should move out of the region by the nighttime hours, according to AccuWeather forecasters.

"We're looking at a lot of mild weather overall during the day on Halloween, with some places being downright warm," AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Forecaster Paul Pastelok said in a forecast discussion posted Friday.
High temperatures across Michigan on Halloween will be in the 60s, with some areas in southeastern Michigan close to 70 degrees, according to AccuWeather forecasters.

That high temperature is roughly 20 degrees higher than normal for this time of year across Michigan, according to national forecasters.
Last year on Halloween, a snowstorm hit west Michigan and dumped up to 8 inches of snow in some areas.
