'I Was Speechless': MI Woman Wins $1M Mega Millions Prize: Lottery
A Jackson woman decided to stop for a car wash and drove away a millionaire, according to the Michigan Lottery.
JACKSON, MI — A Jackson woman decided to stop for a car wash and drove away a millionaire, according to the Michigan Lottery.
Louise Adams, 77, told lottery officials that while parked at the Kelly’s Express Mart in Jackson, she decided to buy a Michigan Mega Millions ticket.
The ticket matched the five white balls (07-11-22-29-38) in the March 26 drawing to win a $1 million prize, according to the Michigan Lottery.

"A few days later, I looked up the winning numbers online and saw I’d matched five, but I didn’t know how much I’d won. I took the ticket to a retailer, and the worker looked at it, wrote something on a piece of paper, and then slipped the paper across the counter to me. When I looked at it and saw $1 million written down, I was speechless! Winning truly feels like a miracle," Adams told lottery officials.
With her winnings, she plans to share the money with her family, according to the Michigan Lottery.

"I still can’t believe I won! All I have to say is thank goodness I decided to get a car wash that day, otherwise I wouldn’t be here claiming $1 million," Adams told lottery officials.
