LAFCU awards $1,936 to contest winner, longtime member
Credit union contest highlights renovated HQ lobby, various products/services
LAFCU announced Jeffrey Reeves, of Lansing, a fourth-generation automobile industry worker and longtime LAFCU member, as the winner of its contest celebrating the newly renovated lobby of its West Lansing headquarters and branch.
Reeves was awarded $1,936, an homage to the credit union’s founding in 1936, in a random drawing of members who took advantage of special Grand Reopening offers for jumbo CDs, credit cards and first mortgages.
“I was at home and my phone rang, and it was LAFCU telling me I had won the grand prize,” said Reeves. “I was absolutely in shock and just thrilled. I will be donating the $1,936 to Flight Angels, which is an organization based in Puerto Rico that I’m very passionate about. We take in abandoned, unwanted animals, rehabilitate them, and relocate them from the island to the mainland.”

LAFCU staff were so touched by Jeffrey’s generosity and his passion for the Flight Angels mission that the credit union pledged to donate funds to have 50 animals transported from Puerto Rico.
