MICHIGAN — The Lake Superior twitter account was trending across the nation Thursday, but not for its beaches or iconic rock formations.

Instead, the largest Great Lake shared its support for the pro-choice movement following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade last week.

"This lake vehemently stands with women having the right to choose," the lake said in a tweet.

Some pro-life supporters, such as conservative activist Tom Fitton attacked the account, but the account didn't shy away.

"Water is wet and abortion kills a human being," Fitton said in response to Lake Superior.

The Great Lake shot back, "Thomas, not even your first talking point is correct. Water is not wet, what water touches is wet. I'm confident I have a lot more experience in making things wet than you do."

Others accused the lake of politicizing issues, to which the Great Lake replied, "To begin, water is one of the most politicized resources in the world. I, sir, am water."

"Secondly, if you need to unfollow an account because 1 in every 432 tweets from a satirical geographic Twitter account is political instead of fun, you need to work on your fragility," the lake said.

The Great Lake even caught the governor's attention.

"This Governor is proud of Lake Superior, which has really earned its name," Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said on Twitter.
