Lipari Foods Recalls Snack Mix Products Sold At MI Stores

MICHIGAN — Lipari Foods recalled specific lots of its sesame sticks and salted sunflower meat tubs that were sold throughout Michigan and other states because of an undeclared cashew allergen, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.

Federal officials believe the affected products may contain cashews, which could run the risk of a serious or life- threatening allergic reaction to someone who eats the products and is allergic or sensitive to cashews.

The sesame sticks mix has a Lipari product number of 368268, a UPC of 094776081646 and "Best By" dates of 03/07/23 and 03/12/23. They were sold in 11-ounce containers.

The sunflower products were sold in 10-ounce containers and have a Lipari product number of 210903, a UPC of 760208118135 and "Best By" dates of 03/08/23 and 03/11/23.

The products were packaged by sister company JLM and distributed to retail stores as a generic product without branding.

As of Wednesday, there are no reported illnesses in connection to the snack mixes, federal officials said.

The affected products were also distributed to retail stores throughout Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Tennessee, Wisconsin and West Virginia.

Consumers who have purchased this recalled product should not eat it. They should return it to where they bought it. Anyone with questions can call Customer Service at 800-729-3354, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., EST, Monday through Friday.
