Major Bank To Close 13 MI Locations: Reports

Most of the locations are in the metro Detroit area and are expected to close in August, according to reports.

Huntington Bank will close 13 locations across Michigan this year, according to multiple reports.

Most of the locations are in the metro Detroit area and are expected to close on Aug. 28, while the Troy West and Traverse City locations are scheduled to close in November, the Detroit News reports.

"Huntington regularly reviews its distribution network and makes adjustments to ensure we have the right mix of branches, ATMs and digital banking to meet our customers’ evolving needs," bank officials said in a statement. "This review includes branch openings, renovations and, in some instances, closures and consolidations."

Officials added there's a Huntington branch within 10 minutes of each location that's being closed.

Huntington Bank will still operate 286 locations across Michigan, maintaining its position as the largest physical bank branch network in the state.
