MI Beer Garden Among Best In Nation: USA TODAY
The popular outdoor northern Michigan beer garden offers limited taproom seating and heated igloos.
SUTTONS BAY, MI — A northern Michigan beer garden surrounded by nature is among the best places to drink in the nation, according to a USA Today ranking.
The outlet ranked the Hop Lot Brewing Company in Suttons Bay right off of Michigan 22 in northwest Michigan as the second-best place in the nation to grab a drink.
The outdoor beer garden, which offers limited indoor taproom seating, enclosed heated porch and igloos, was founded in 2015 and features numerous beers, including the American Lager, Woad Warrior, Marzen and the North Porter.

"Embracing its Northern Michigan roots, Hop Lot Brewing’s beer garden invites guests to warm up around the campfire or relax at picnic tables while enjoying their brews," USA Today wrote about Hop Lot. "In winter, you can even reserve your own igloo. Hop Lot was established in 2015 as a family-friendly brewery and offers a tap list of around a dozen traditional ales."
