MI Is Best State In Nation For Beer Lovers: Study

MICHIGAN — A new study ranked Michigan the best place in the country to enjoy a cold beer.

The GreatLakesStakes.com study ranked all 50 states by three metrics: the average rating of breweries (BeerAdvocate.com), the number of breweries per 100,000 residents (BrewersAssocation.org) and the average price of a 24-pack (MakeBeerEasy.com).

Although Michigan didn't earn a top ranking in either category (11th in quality, 13th in quantity and sixth for affordability), the state's average ranked high enough across the board to earn the No. 1 overall ranking.

Iowa came in second, and Illinois, Colorado and Missouri round followed to round out the top five.

Here are the 12 best breweries in Michigan, according to Thrillist:
