BELLAIRE, MI — Just after a Charlevoix restaurant closed early because of rude customers, another nearby Northern Michigan restaurant spoke out against customers who won't be kind to staff.
Short’s Brewing Company, based in Bellaire, just outside of Torch Lake said they're tired of customer who "swear, yell, laugh in our faces, name-call, belittle, bring us to tears, and threaten negative reviews or to never come back."
The brewery also said that rude customers this year "are as relentless as ever."

The brewery posted the message to its Facebook page explaining they're short-staffed and doing the best they can with what they've got, despite customers yelling in their faces during peak business times.
"We will ALWAYS have our staff’s backs so don’t be a jerk," the brewing company said. "And secondly: Good things take time. If you come here during the busiest time of the year, you’re going to wait. Period. And we’ve streamlined our operation to create an experience that takes HALF the time it has in recent years."

On Sunday evening, the East Park Tavern in Charlevoix was forced to closed down early because managers said too many customers were disrespecting staff. The restaurant was celebrating the city's 92nd annual Venetian Festival in the downtown area, an event that typically brings in a lot of business.
"I'm so incredibly disappointed and embarrassed by the Fudgies we have this year," East Park Tavern Manager Larah Moore said in a Facebook post. "My staff took a BEATING all week. Last night was our last straw. Too many rude comments. Too many arrogant individuals acting like they can throw money at us to get their way. Too many cocky jerks."
