MI Gas Prices Drop 12 Cents Over Past Week: AAA

Gas prices across metro Detroit also fell over the past week, according to AAA.​​

MICHIGAN — Gas prices across Michigan have dropped by 12 cents over the past week, according to AAA.

The average price for a regular gallon of gas across Michigan Monday morning was $3.34, which is 12 cents cheaper from last week but still eight cents more than a month ago, according to AAA.

Michigan drivers paid roughly $50 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline, which is $8 cheaper than 2023's highest price last August, according to AAA.

Gas prices across metro Detroit also fell over the past week, according to AAA.

The average price for a regular gallon of gas across metro Detroit Monday morning was $3.42, which is six cents less than last week but still none cents more than last month, according to AAA.

"Michigan motorists are seeing lower prices at the pump this week," AAA Spokesperson Adrienne Woodland said. "Tepid gasoline demand and low oil costs may push gas prices down further."

  • Most expensive gas price averages: Ann Arbor ($3.43), Metro Detroit ($3.43) and Jackson ($3.41).
  • Least expensive gas price averages: Benton Harbor ($3.22), Saginaw ($3.28) and Flint ($3.30).
