MI Gas Prices Fall 9 Cents Over Past Week: AAA
Regular gas prices also fell roughly six cents in the metro Detroit area over the past week, according to AAA.
MICHIGAN — Gas prices fell nine cents across Michigan over the past week, according to AAA.
Michigan drivers paid an average of $2.81 for a regular gallon of gas, which is nearly 40 cents less than this time last month and 52 cents less than the same time last year, according to AAA.
Gas prices also fell in the metro Detroit area. Drivers in the region paid $2.87 for a regular gallon of gas, roughly six cents cheaper than a week ago and 26 cents cheaper than a month ago, according to AAA.

"As we move further into the new year, Michigan motorists continue to see lower prices at the pump. If gas demand remains weak, drivers will likely continue to see gas prices trickle downward," AAA Spokesperson Adrienne Woodland said.
The most expensive gas price averages Monday were in Jackson ($2.93), Ann Arbor ($2.91) and Marquette ($2.90). The least expensive gas price averages Monday were in Grand Rapids ($2.69), Flint ($2.74) and Benton Harbor ($2.75), according to AAA.
